Rotterdam to Nashville (2026)

‘Rotterdam to Nashville: Director’s Cut’ follows Mark Blomsteel, a Dutch country singer, as he celebrates his 15th-anniversary with a concert in the Netherlands.

He talks about how it all started and what inspired him to follow his dream to become a country singer.

The documentary introduces the band and the crew through a series of behind-the-scenes footage from the rehearsals and the Rotterdam to Nashville concert.

The viewer gets to be a part of Mark’s journey as the stories of loved ones and the behind-the-scenes merge into one.

About the ‘Rotterdam to Nashville’ Project

“I spent hours in theatre halls, rehearsal studios, and backstage waiting areas as a child. I have listened to countless rehearsals and final run-throughs with Mark and the band when he was in the Netherlands, before he moved to the United States.”
- Mai-Lu Ensink

When Mai-Lu heard that Mark wanted to capture the behind-the-scenes process for his 15th-anniversary concert, she felt nostalgic, which is why she took on this project. The initial idea for the documentary had a somewhat commercial approach, so it was agreed that the final product consisted of two versions: the original ‘Rotterdam to Nashville’ behind-the-scenes documentary and the director’s cut.

‘Rotterdam to Nashville’ was produced by Mai-Lu Ensink in collaboration with Mark Blomsteel, Tom Ensink, and NEP The Netherlands in 2025.

The director’s cut was produced by Mai-Lu Ensink in 2026.
